James MOODY (1786 - 1871)

James was born in 1786 at Lockerley, Romsey, Hants to Benjamin MOODY and Martha VENTHAM.

He married Ann JAMES of Arreton in the Isle of Wight circa 1810 . They had eight children between 1815 and 1833.

In his Will, made in 1869, he states he is a 'Copseman' living at and working from premises at, his 'freehold' cottage at Barton Village, and that he also owns two other freehold cottages in Barton Village and at Copins Bridge, Whipingham

James died on 23 November 1871 at St Paul Barton.
