Frances, or 'Fanny' as she became known, was born on 22 January 1817 at Arreton on the Isle of Wight to James MOODY and Ann JAMES.

She married Henry Alfred VINCENT on 12 November 1841 at St Mildred's Church, Whippingham, Cowes, Isle of Wight. She had ten children between 1841 and 1860.

In 1851 they were living at 23 Barton Village and in 1861 at Bell Croft Cottages, Whippingham. However by the time of her daughter Ann's marriage in 1871, they had moved to Ryde and were living in Nelson Street.

By  the 1881 census they had moved home once again, to Cuthbert Cottages back at Staplers near Newport and she was employed as a laundress.

Frances died on 20 November 1909 at South Street, Newport, Isle of Wight of Chronic Bronchitis.
