George was born on 28 September 1841 at Alpha Place, Andover, Hampshire to William BULL, a Sawyer and Jemima WILLIAMS.

At the time of the 1861 census he was living at Oakfield, Isle of Wight and employed as a plumber, but by the 1871 census he had moved to a cottage at the rear of 26 George Street, Ryde and was employed as a painter.

On 18 June 1871 he married Ann Rebecca VINCENT at Holy Trinity Parish Church, Ryde, Isle of Wight. They had six children between 1872 and 1883.

By the time of his daughter Anne Elizabeth's birth in 1879 they were living at St Augustine, Ashey Road, Haylands, near Ryde, but by 1891 they had moved to 35 Albert Street, Ryde.

George was variously employed as a plumber, a glazier and as a house painter and decorator between 1861 and his death on 15 April 1903 at 35 Albert Road, Ryde, Isle of Wight.
